Amy maintains a robust reputation-management practice that focuses on litigating high-stakes defamation cases and business torts, as well as helping prominent clients manage crises. She brings substantial experience and sound judgment to all phases of litigation, including discovery, motions practice, and trial. In addition to defamation cases, Amy has represented plaintiffs in litigation over tortious interference, unfair trade practices, trade secrets theft, civil conspiracy, abuse of process, malicious prosecution, and more.

Amy has also prevented the publication of misleading stories and obtained retractions, corrections, clarifications, and public apologies from Bloomberg, The Wall Street Journal, Rolling Stone, the Associated Press, VICE Media, The Daily Mail, Gizmodo, Architectural Record, and countless other publications.

Representative Matters
  • Represented a movie producer in defamation litigation against a notorious YouTuber. Amy successfully persuaded the Court to reject Defendants’ efforts to dismiss the litigation pursuant to the California anti-SLAPP statute. She then successfully defended the favorable ruling on appeal.

  • Won an $8 million jury verdict for the chairman of a Dubai-based private investment firm defamed in a fake dossier.

  • Defeated a motion under Pennsylvania’s new anti-SLAPP statute, which established the state law’s inapplicability in federal court.

  • Obtained partial denial of California anti-SLAPP Motion in federal court, allowing the case to proceed to discovery and trial.

  • Defeated motion for judgment on the pleadings brought by a so-called investigative YouTuber, who had argued that he was merely sharing non-actionable opinions when he accused the plaintiff of running a “scam” in connection with a crypto-currency and NFT offering.

  • Represented a non-profit suffering from serial harassment and defamation by a disgruntled ex-employee; successfully obtained cessation of the problematic conduct.

  • Represented a start-up tech company in $900 million trade libel litigation against McDonald’s and McFlurry Machine maker Taylor Company.
