Daniel Watkins of Meier Watkins Phillips Pusch LLP is featured in Vanity Fair for representing former Harvard-Westlake student-athlete Aidan Romain in a civil lawsuit alleging sexual assault, racist harassment, and institutional failures within the school’s varsity water polo program. Read Vanity Fair’s coverage here.

The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleges that Romain was repeatedly sexually assaulted and subjected to racist abuse by teammates while playing on the varsity team. The complaint further alleges that school officials were aware of serious misconduct within the program but failed to take appropriate action to protect students.

The story was also featured in most major newspapers throughout the United States. From Los Angeles Times' coverage:

“This lawsuit is born of a profound and unforgivable injustice,” [Romain's] attorney Daniel Watkins said in a statement. “The truth is laid bare in the complaint — unvarnished, unflinching, undeniable. We welcome our day in court.” Read Los Angeles Times’s coverage here
